RegioGreenTex

Project Start Date: January 1st, 2023

Leading Promoter: Euratex

Co-Promoters: Tintex Textiles; +41 entities

The main objective of the RegioGreenTex project is to respond to the challenges identified by the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles. A systemic shift towards circularity is currently needed in order to reduce the environmental impact of textile production and consumption. By 2025, separate collection of textile waste will be mandatory, which will require the large-scale implementation of circular business models, moving from linear to circular value chains.
The RegioGreenTex project is an initiative with the aim of mapping and reducing the difficulties that currently exist in implementing this systematic circular economy model in the textile industry across the EU. RegioGreenTex will support SMEs in finding innovative approaches to recycling and valuing textile fibers, scaling up new technologies and supporting their integration into industrial processes.
